summer reading

I need to start a list of summer reading goals. Ok, maybe not goals, perhaps targets or ideas is a better way to put it. I want to read more fiction. I need book suggestions. My first pick is Unaccustomed Earth by the ever amazing Jhumpa Lahiri.

After that, the next nine spots are empty. I'll be on a train, in a plane, and in the park. Any suggestions of what to take along?

You could look in Books and Culture for some reading ideas. I wonder if a public library would have that publication.

There is always Callista by JH Newman that I have--it is fiction. Then I also have a new book, highly recommended by Dr. G: A Feminist Theological Reconstruction of Christian Origins: In Memory of Her. I haven't begun it, so I cannot vouch for it except through Dr. G. Plus it is not fiction. Although Callisata is.

I've just begun North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell. So far, so good (Did you catch Cranford on PBS Masterpiece? Very enjoyable!).
